HealthData@EU Pilot PROJECT

Piloting an infrastructure for the secondary use of health data

The HealthData@EU Pilot project will build a pilot version of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) infrastructure for the secondary use of health data “HealthData@EU” which will serve research, innovation, policy making and regulatory purposes.

It will build a pilot version of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) infrastructure for the secondary use of health data

The project will connect data platforms in a network infrastructure and develop services supporting the user journey for research projects using health data from various EU Member States. It will also provide guidelines for data standards, data quality, data security and data transfer to support this cross-border infrastructure. Priority services include a metadata discovery service and a common health data access request.

PARTICIPATION IN HealthData@EU

IACS participate in Work Package 8 ‘Data interoperability, quality and protection’

WP8 deals with interoperability of actual data in different phases of HealthData@EU User Journey: from a study of different common data models, available terminologies and how to make data interoperability between nodes, to data exchange among HealthData@EU Nodes and ultimately data delivery to the researchers.

It also deals with quality controlling and more generally quality assurance mechanisms that are to be implemented by the HealthData@EU Nodes. The subject of federated queries to obtain new metadata, such as aggregate availability data, is addressed through a feasibility study.
